The Department of Sanskrit
The Department of Sanskrit started its journey in the year 1966 for offering General Degree Course and the Honours Course was introduced in the year 2004, under The University of Burdwan. The Department have been running with CBCS syllabus under the Bankura University, since Academic Session 2017-18. Two Assistant Professors and four State Aided College Teachers have been serving the Department. They are very much cooperative, dedicated and friendly to their students. Modern tools of learning are used regularly in the classroom and study materials like books, notes are provided to improve the knowledge of the students. Every year approximately 200 students (Honours & Programme) come out of this College with remarkable result. The number of students is being increase day by day due to increasing acceptability of Sanskrit.
Sanskrit Department has a good reputation for the discipline and regularity of teachers in taking their classes. In addition to the academic excellence of the students, Departmental Teachers encourage them to take part in the various activities of our college for building up character, career and personality. Our students participate in different activities like singing, dancing, drawing etc. and also participate in different intra and inter college competitions. Teacher student relationship is very good and healthy of this department. The Department conducts seminar, webinar from time to time and publishes departmental Wall Magazine (ANUSRIJANI) every year.
